She had a big tail and swam amazingly like the half fish she was, but she lived in a fishbowl. Day after day she had fun with the little fish that lived with her in that transparent prison. She could see through it, but she couldn’t leave. The mermaid never lost her smile because at the end of the day she lived in the water. But one day she realised that she was still dreaming; she was still changing and she was still growing. She used all of that* to leave the fishbowl until she had to grab hold of it, because there were more of her outside than inside. The desire and the dreams were winning over the crystal cage, and one day the mermaid would be free thanks to her tenacity, perseverance and her smile.
